The Honorary Fellow, IFLA's highest award, is awarded to individuals who have made an impact on the
work of the organization through length or type of service, outstanding achievements within that
service, and service that has brought distinction to IFLA in the international arena. Ms. Parent has been
an active member of IFLA since 1995 and served as IFLA’s President-elect from 2009-2011 and
President from 2011-2013. Among her many achievements were the establishment of the highly
regarded IFLA Trend Report, the launch of IFLA’s website in French and Spanish, and hosting a
number of international events under her presidential theme “Libraries – a force for change."
